Pedri has been featured heavily in a number of recent card roundups, and it’s no surprise as he’s one of the breakthrough rookies for a massive European side in the form of Barcelona.
In fact, Barca manager Xavi was recently forced to dismiss claims that the team is too reliant on the young star, drawing comparisons to Lionel Messi with a ‘Pedridependencia’.
“I wouldn’t say that,” Xavi said.
“Look, he’s an extraordinary player. Don’t skimp on the praise for him. He’s a player that excites me and one that can make a difference. He’s scored a great goal [against Levante], but I don’t think there is [a dependence on him].”
Many would disagree, especially after multiple game-changing performances this season.

Expect to pay over four figures if you’re looking at copies numbered to 75 or fewer.

An exclusive blue version of the base 2020-21 Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League set, 2020-21 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition UEFA Champions League offers an assortment of base cards, parallels and a few image variations.
Despite the premium price tag, there were no autos included in the set. That hasn’t stopped this Pedri RC from being one of the most sought after in the present day.

1. 2020 Panini Chronicles Rated Rookie Pedri RC #5 (eBay)
Pedri’s ‘Rated Rookie’ card is probably the most popular option if you’re looking for an RC to suit almost any budget. There are rare Cracked Ice parallels, as well as cheaper base copies. It’s part of a popular subset with great brand recognition, while the Optic versions are always popular with collectors.

Here’s what we think of the current state of the market for the best Pedri RCs.
As always, base versions of more recent cards have been printed in high numbers to meet increased demand. These sets were only released in 2021. You won’t have to search for too long to find affordable Pedri cards with an RC logo attached.
The ‘best’ Pedri investment card is a tough one, depending on whether you’d prefer a signed RC, or the best that Topps/Panini has to offer.
We missed out on getting a 2020-21 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition UEFA Champions League box when it was originally released. I have a feeling that the rare Pedri RC found within might be the best option overall.
Pedri Rookie Cards: Buying/Selling Advice
Pedri has had to deal with injuries this season, but looked as sharp as ever upon his return. It’s worth mentioning that he’s contracted to Barca until the summer of 2026, while an extension added a record-breaking $1.16 billion release clause. They clearly think that he’s the future of the club.
If the team continues to have a dependence on Pedri, it’s only going to have a positive impact on the prices of his best RCs in the long term. He’s also expected to star for Spain during the 2022 World Cup, having played 629 minutes across six games at Euro 2020.
On the other hand, he’s only 19, and has made only 49 league appearances for Barcelona at the current time of writing. He’s undeniably talented, but there is an element of risk with all younger players.
