2018 Dragon Ball Super wasn’t the most popular set when it was first released, despite the Tournament of Power being one of the most anticipated sagas in Dragon Ball history.
It saw the strongest warriors from eight out of the twelve Universes participating, while any team who loses in this tournament had their Universe erased from existence.
Here’s a roundup with some of the best 2018 Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power cards, featuring a strong showing from Universe 7.
The Best 2018 Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power Cards
Produced in 2018, Tournament of Power is the fourth Dragon Ball Super set released by Bandai, and the first Themed collection. It features some amazing looking cards that can easily sell four four figures if they’re in pristine condition. The 176-card set was originally released on May 25th.
For the purposes of this list, we’re going to be looking at PSA 10 graded copies.
5. Beerus, Universe 7 Divine Vanquisher (SPR) (eBay)
The God of Destruction in Universe 7, Beerus is the first card to make the list. The deep purple colors and the lack of a hard border on two sides are a couple of the many reasons why pristine copies are so valuable. It’s also a Special Rare [SPR], which is true for the majority of cards that we’ll be looking at.
Beerus is a popular character, but a side-character nonetheless. This means he’s unlikely to be as popular as the Z-Fighters.

4. Frieza, Emperor of Universe 7 (SPR) (eBay)
Frieza was the third most successful fighter in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power, and an unlikely, but useful ally.
In the Universe Survival Saga, he has a halo on his head due to being dead, although this is removed after the tournament. It’s seen in the illustration, which shows Frieza in his natural golden form.
There are a number of Frieza cards in the 2018 Dragon Ball Super set, but none will match the value of the gold SPR version.

3. Universe 7 Saiyan Prince Vegeta (SPR) (eBay)
Now we’re getting to the real heavy hitters. Vegeta is one of the most popular characters from the anime, who eliminated more fighters than anyone other than Goku in the tournament (14).
Vegeta learned the second most powerful transformation in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power, known as Blue Evolved. It can be seen in the card illustration, with a shot of the Prince of all Saiyans ready to attack.

2. Son Goku, Hope of Universe 7 (SPR) (eBay)
Finally, we get to Goku. A pop-culture icon, he took out the most competitors in the Tournament of Power with 16 eliminations, and is recognizable for anyone with a passing interest in cartoons or anime over the past 30 years.
Another SPR card, these were inserted at a rate of four per case, and they feature facsimile signatures of the English voice actors at the top. The main character in the series is always going to sell for a premium, especially with a sleek metallic finish.

1. Son Goku, The Awakened Power (eBay)
Sticking with Goku, the Awakened Power single is the most powerful Dragon Ball card ever made. With a power rating of 45,000, it’s an instant one hit KO.
With an estimated print run of only 300-500, it’s exceptionally elusive, and it’s seen as the holy grail for many DBZ card collectors.
The pull rate for ‘Son Goku, The Awakened Power’ is believed to be 0.34% from a booster pack and 8.3% from a booster box.
Expect to pay upwards of $5,000 if you’re looking at pristine PSA 10 copies.

2018 Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power Cards: Buyers Guide
Here’s what we think of the current state of the market for DBZ cards. It’s easy to forget, the set was only released four years ago, and prices have risen rapidly in the meantime.
Ungraded copies of the cards seen above are more affordable, and the same goes for PSA 9 versions. With 176 cards in the set, only a handful are out of reach if you’re on a tight budget.
The Awakened Power single is where it’s at if you’re looking for the best investment card from the 2018 Tournament of Power collection. Many experts compare it to Charizard, such is its importance within the hobby,

2018 Dragon Ball Super Tournament of Power: Buying/Selling Advice
Each of the cards to make the list are incredible to look at, with lots of detail, and facsimile signatures of the English voice actors. It’s hard to see it being topped anytime soon, while DBZ is as popular as ever.
Meanwhile, Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultra God Mission is hoping to emulate the hype and success of the Tournament of Power with the introduction of an even grander battle: the Super Space-Time Tournament.
Prices have exploded for the Secret Rares. For example, a PSA 9 Awakened Power card sold for $160 on eBay in February 2020. That price is now up to roughly $1,500.
What will they be worth by 2025?
