Anyone with a passing interest in the latest generation of talent is likely to have heard of Eduardo Camavinga

As the youngest player to ever play for Rennes’ first team at the age of 16, he earned a big-money move to Real Madrid in August 2021.

Los Blancos paid £34.4m for him and few doubt it is a bargain.

The wonderkid hasn’t looked out of place so far, while his rookie cards are some of the hottest within the hobby.

Here’s the lowdown on the best Eduardo Camavinga cards, and whether they’re worth the considerable outlay.

The Best Eduardo Camavinga Rookie Cards

Cavavinga RCs were included in the majority of Topps soccer sets in 2020. You’ll find the player featuring for Rennes, rather than in the white of Real Madrid.

5. 2020-21 Topps Finest UCL Prized Footballers Eduardo Camavinga RC #EC (eBay)

The Prized Footballers subset of 2020-21 Topps Finest UCL is where we begin. The popular selection also includes the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

It’s not the most expensive option to make the list. However, it does stand out thanks to a unique design which uses the Champions League logo as a background.

Aside from a one-of-one SuperFractor, each card is serial-numbered, with 14 players making up the autographed subset. There’s also an unsigned version included in the collection, with the following Refractor parallels available:

  • Gold #/50, Red #/5

The insert was released at a rate of one in every three boxes.

4. 2020-21 Topps Museum Collection UCL Eduardo Camavinga RC #47 (eBay)

2020-21 Topps Museum Collection boxes were almost impossible to find, selling out instantly upon release. The set looks at the best clubs in European football, making use of the UCL licence.

Cards from the set are thick and glossy, featuring an action shot of Camavinga as he dribbles along the pitch.

Unlike the other sets included on this list, there aren’t as many parallels as you might expect, and they’re themed around precious minerals like gold and emerald.

Parallels: Copper #/99, Sapphire #/75, Gold #/50, Ruby #/25, Emerald 1/1

3. 2020 Merlin Chrome UCL Eduardo Camavinga RC #EC (eBay)

2020 Topps Merlin UEFA features the typical range of Champions League and Europa League stars that have been given a sleek chromium finish. The popular soccer set features a signed Camavinga RC that is reasonably valuable when graded.

The brand returned in time for the 2020/21 season after being shelved for a few years.

The Chrome Autograph subset is where the money is, although there’s also an unsigned card which uses the same action shot found within the collection.

(It’s a recurring theme for many of the top RCs featuring the player.)

Parallels: Speckle #/150, Mojo #/99, Blue #/75, Gold #/50, Orange #/25, Red #/10, SuperFractor 1/1

2. 2020-21 Topps Chrome UCL Eduardo Camavinga RC #EC (eBay)

Another signed Camavinga RC is found in the 2020/21 Topps Chrome Champions League collection.

As part of the flagship Topps soccer release the card is wrapped in familiar chrome, helping it to stand out while highlighting any flaws or imperfections.

There’s a prominent RC logo on the front, and it’s one of the biggest hits found in the set. Parallels are also plentiful, and are as follows;

Parallels: Blue #/150, Neon Green #/99, Blue Wave #/75, Gold #/50, Gold Bubbles, Orange #/25, Orange Bubbles, Red #/10, Red Wave #/5, SuperFractor 1/1

1. 2020-21 Topps Finest UCL Eduardo Camavinga RC #EC (eBay)

The 2020/21 Topps Finest UCL set is packed full of signed rookie Refractors featuring the French midfielder.

This is typically one of the most expensive signed Cavavinga RCs, especially when looking at graded copies of the numbered parallels.

It has a similar aesthetic to the others mentioned above, but it seems to be the card that collectors prefer overall.

Parallels: Blue #/150, Neon Green #/99, Neon Green Wave #/99, Gold #/50, Orange #/25, Orange Wave #/25, Red #/5, Red Wave #/5, SuperFractor 1/1

Eduardo Camavinga Cards: Values

If your Camavinga card has a serial number and an RC logo, you’re going to have a good time. This is even more pronounced if the card in question happens to be wrapped in a graded slab, preferably by the likes of PSA or BGS

As a player who has yet to reach his twenties, it’s always risky to pay big money when you’re banking on future performances. Will France be able to replicate their prior form when they lose the likes of N’golo Kante? It’s something to consider before splashing the cash.

Eduardo Camavinga Cards: Cheaper Options

In terms of cheaper options, Camavinga’s rookie sticker is a good place to start. It looks great in a graded sleeve.

The same goes for many ungraded parallels of the cards mentioned above, due to the current backlog seen with the likes of PSA and BGS.

Summary

Let’s face it. The majority of the Camavinga cards listed above are exceptionally expensive, even if they all look similar in terms of design.

It’s a symptom of the way in which sets are overproduced in the here and now. There are too many variations of rookie cards containing the same player.

It’s also worth mentioning that he’s a midfielder. It’s a position in which it’s hard to win individual accolades when compared to star strikers

He was an unused substitute against Barcelona in the most recent El Clasico, but Camavinga is likely to get chances to succeed at one of the biggest clubs in world football.
