We’re taking the opportunity to check out ten of the best Ja’Marr Chase rookie cards available right now. The 2021 Offensive Rookie of the Year set a variety of NFL records in his maiden season, leading his team to an appearance at the 2022 Super Bowl.

Ja’Marr Chase has caught 168 passes for 2,501 yards and 22 touchdowns through his first two NFL seasons with the Bengals. He has worked especially well with Joe Burrow, having won a national championship together at LSU in 2019.

2021 Panini Prizm Football is where you’ll find the popular short-printed Stained Glass inserts. It’s easy to see how they earn the name, using a sleek chrome patterned background to great effect. Chase is one of 20 players included in a strong subset. There are no parallels, and it’s not to be confused with the 2021 Panini Mosaic ‘Glass Mosaic’ insert.

2021 Panini Select Football is a familiar multi-tier release with a strong emphasis on parallels. The base cards are split into Concourse, Premier Level, Club Level and Field Level subsets that increase in rarity, and Chase makes multiple appearances within the set. You’ll see an example of the Field Level RC above, featuring chase making a trademark catch.

Sticking with 2021 Panini Select Football,there’s a strong auto featuring Chase, limited to just 49 copies. There are also numbered die-cut versions, which share the same image and design aside from a different shape. Given the low print runs, prices are beginning to creep upwards despite being a cheaper option overall.

6. 2021 Panini Prizm Color Blast Ja’Marr Chase RC #CB16 (eBay)

2021 Panini Prizm Football is up next. Color Blast cards are case hits that are difficult to locate despite the lack of a serial number. (In fact, they can drop at a rate of one in every 10 cases.)

They’re even more valuable if there’s a rookie card logo on the front, which is the case for Ja’Marr Chase. His Color Blast RC is a high-end card that uses a now familiar design.

5. 2021 Panini Prizm Ja’Marr Chase RC #337 (eBay)

2021 Panini Prizm Football features the best parallels on the market. As always, there’s a strong border design, and an action shot that is face-on. (Chase isn’t obscured, even if he’s wearing his helmet.) 

There are signed and unsigned versions of the card seen above, suiting a range of budgets. One drawback is that it’s a stickered auto, but it does have a large selection of parallels that we’ve come to expect from the flagship set.

2021 Panini Contenders Football is where you’ll find the ever popular Rookie Ticket subset.

Chase’s 2021 Rookie Ticket has lots of parallels that are accompanied by a stickered signature. As always, the Cracked Ice edition is worth checking out, especially as there were only 21 copies produced. You’ll also be able to find an image variation, which is seen above.

Ja’Marr Chase Rookie Cards: Final Thoughts 

It’s fair to say that there’s some confusion in terms of Chase’s long-term future at the current time of writing, as he’s in the third year of his rookie contract and is eligible for an extension next offseason. Will the Bengals be able to afford him? 

Whatever the case, he’s already a record holder in the NFL, who has a bright future in the league no matter who he plays for.
