Jon Jones has been one of the biggest names in MMA for over a decade, and is the undisputed light heavyweight GOAT.

He’s best known for being a former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, holding the title from March 2011 to April 2015 and from December 2018 to August 2020.

He vacated the belt to chase heavyweight aspirations, and is undefeated since 2009.

Here’s a rundown with five of the best Jon Jones cards that are available on the market right now.

The Best Jon Jones Cards

Given the longevity of his time at the top, there are numerous Jones cards which are popular with collectors.

5. 2021 Panini Prizm UFC Jon Jones #101 (eBay)

Panini Prizm Jon Jones graded UFC #101 card

The premium 2021 Panini Prizm UFC set has proved to be popular since it was released in April 2021. The $1,000 price tag is certainly off-putting for the average collector, but there are great cards that can be found on the resale market.

One such example is Jones’ card from the Base Horizontal set. A landscape image shows the fighter unleashing a customary spinning kick. He’s listed as a heavyweight in the tab at the bottom.

Parallels: Silver, Green, Red #/275, Blue #/199, Purple #/149, Orange #/99, Premium Box Set #/99, Neon Green #/75, Teal #/49, Pink Pulsar #/42, Green Pulsar #/25, Mojo #/25, Gold #/10, Lucky Envelopes #/8, Octagon #/8, Black 1/1

4. 2014 Topps UFC Knockout Fist-ograph Jon Jones #F-JJ (eBay)

The 2014 Topps UFC Knockout set contains another great early Bones card.

‘Fist-ograph’ Box Toppers are numbered to just ten copies. This means that they’re some of the rarest Jones collectibles on the market. As well as an on-card auto at the top, there’s an imprint of his knuckles beneath.

You’ll note the small serial number in the top left corner. The design makes it one of the more unique cards to make the list.

3. 2021 Panini Prizm UFC Color Blast Jon Jones #11 (eBay)

This popular Color Blast insert is included in the 2021 Panini Prizm UFC collection, with 20 fighters given the treatment.

Color Blast cards are some of the more interesting recent releases, with a unique coloured background set against an image of the athlete doing what they do best.

With Jones, they’ve opted for one of his unique kicks, which are used to wear down his opponents.

It might have come out this year, but we expect prices to rise rapidly if he wins the heavyweight belt.

2. 2009 Topps UFC Round 2 Jon Jones RC #FA-JJ (eBay)

2009 Topps UFC Round 2 was the follow up to Topps’ wildly successful UFC debut earlier that year.

One card included in the collection also happens to be a Jones RC. It also happens to be one of the more affordable options on the list.

It features an action shot of the fighter as he landed a spinning backfist on his UFC 87 debut against Andre Gusmao, who was also undefeated at the time.

The parallels are thicker than a normal card, making them easy to identify.

Parallels: Gold, Onyx #/188, Ruby #/8, Diamond 1/1

1. 2009 Topps UFC Knockout Jon Jones RC #FA-JJ (eBay)

The 2009 Topps UFC Knockout RC is the king of Jones cards. As for why it takes the top spot, the age is a major factor as it features an image of a rookie Bones with a fledgling record of just 8-0.

The base edition has a sticker auto, and no serial number. That means that it’s reasonably easy to pick up in the present. However, there’s also an elusive Red Ink version limited to just 25 copies. The latter also includes his nickname, and has to be seen as the best Jones RC overall.

Parallels: Red Ink #/25

Jon Jones Cards: Buyers Guide

Jon Jones will always be a legendary fighter, with fans and detractors across a range of different generations. Here’s a buyer’s guide looking at the present, as well as the future.

We’d look at some of the latest 2021 Panini Prizm UFC cards for cheaper options, although you will have to pay more if you’re looking at graded versions. Otherwise, the 2009 Topps UFC Round 2 Jon Jones RC should definitely be on your agenda.

It’s hard to do better than a signed RC, which is why we’d stick with his 2009 Topps UFC Knockout release. There aren’t as many UFC branded cards as you might have expected, while Jon Jones autos are also fairly rare.

Another alternative would be one of the new 2021 Panini Prizm Championship Signatures parallels. have proved to be reasonably popular since their release earlier this year.

Jon Jones Cards: Buying/Selling Advice

Whether or not he finds success at heavyweight, Jones has taken on all-comers at 205 for a decade. That also includes a famous win over rival Daniel Cormier, although a second KO was eventually overturned due to a failed drug test result;

“The California State Athletic Commission officially changed the result of UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones’ knockout victory over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 in July to a no-contest.”

Then there’s everything from drug use to a hit-and-run incident that has soured his relationship with some fans over the years.

A prime example would be that he was arrested at a resort near Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, in September 2021. He was in the city for a ceremony at the UFC Hall of Fame, marking the induction of his first fight with Alexander Gustafsson in 2013.

Jones was charged with two counts, including alleged misdemeanor battery domestic violence.

A fighter as controversial as Conor McGregor, Jones appears to be his own worst enemy, and it could have an impact on his card prices in the future when all is said and done. He is the light heavyweight GOAT, but he’s still a risky investment.
