Lando Norris was the F3 champion in 2017, and the Formula 2 runner-up in 2018. 

Now Norris is a rapidly rising F1 star with McLaren, having been fast-tracked in 2019 to an F1 rookie season in which he only narrowly missed out on a top-10 championship placing.

His unstoppable rise continued in 2021, with a further four podiums.

2020 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Racing contains nine Lando Norris RCs, from base cards to signed editions. This is one of the cheaper options, featuring a close-up shot of the F1 driver as he takes a break under an umbrella.

4. 2020 Topps Chrome F1 Lando Norris RC #7 (eBay)

Sticking with the flagship 2020 Topps Chrome F1 release, the next Lando Norris rookie card is found in the F1 Racers base collection. Don’t be fooled by the lack of a signature. The serial numbered parallels can work out to be some of the most valuable Norris RCs when all is said and done. 

They feature a shot of the racer with his arms folded, staring at the camera. (You’ll also be able to find an image variation, with a CMP code on back that ends #062.)

If you’d prefer a signed Lando Norris rookie card, the Chrome Autographs subset is the best place to start. (Unlike the other 2020 Topps Chrome cards mentioned so far, there are no Sapphire Edition inserts or autographs.)

With fewer Refractors and no Sapphire Edition to contend with, it’s hard to think of many flaws aside from the sticker autograph, rather than being on-card.

The Sapphire edition of 2020 Topps Chrome is a premium online-exclusive blue version of the 200-card base series. We’ve mentioned that autos and inserts were excluded, but that hasn’t stopped the Sapphire cards from being some of the most valuable overall. 

As with the version listed above, they feature a shot of Norris with his arms folded, staring at the camera. (You’ll also be able to find an image variation with the Sapphire card.)

1. 2020 Topps Dynasty F1 Lando Norris RC #TRAIILN (eBay)

It’s going to be tough to do better than the Dynasty Single-Driver Autographed Triple Relic card found in 2020 Topps Dynasty. It was the debut set for the high-end brand, offering a number of premium Lando Norris RCs. 

In truth, any of the Norris patch autos are likely to be a solid investment. However, the average collector is likely to be priced out.

What is the current state of the market for Lando Norris rookie cards? 

As a 2020 rookie, there are lots of base RCs that would serve as a great place to start your collection. This includes the Topps Chrome cards seen above. 

If we could only pick one Norris RC, we’d look at one of the signed auto patches from 2020 Topps Dynasty. However, the Sapphire cards are easier to locate, and have to be seen as the next best thing.

Lando Norris Rookie Cards: Buying/Selling Advice

Lando Norris rookie cards continue to sell for exceptional amounts, but it’s fair to say that he has what it takes to be a future F1 World Champion. 

That’s obviously what collectors are banking on, considering the high prices seen for the best graded options. 

McLaren have struggled to hit previous heights under new regulations, while Norris signed a four-year extension in February 2022.
