One of the greatest boxers of his generation, Tyson Fury is a two-time world heavyweight champion, who became the third heavyweight, after Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali, to hold The Ring magazine title twice, and is widely considered to be the lineal champion.

Fury has a massive worldwide following of boxing fans, given his unique mix of size and athleticism. He’s also a massive character, who battled back from mental health issues to claim heavyweight gold against all odds.

Here’s a roundup with a trio of the best Tyson Fury cards to collect, including autographs and the rarest of parallels.

The Best Tyson Fury Cards

Boxing sets don’t come along regularly, so there aren’t as many Tyson Fury collectible cards as you might have expected. It also makes it difficult to pinpoint Fury’s rookie year, and what should be considered as an RC.

3. 2021 Leaf Pro Set Autograph Tyson Fury #PSA22 (eBay)

2021 Leaf Pro Set Autograph Tyson Fury #PSA22

The 2021 Leaf Set features a classic image of Fury with his tongue sticking out after licking Deontay Wilder’s blood, set against a lined red backdrop. It uses the 1989 Pro Set design as a template.

The set is a multi-sport release, which is why Fury is listed as a boxer at the top of the card. (You’ll find baseball, basketball, football, soccer, boxing and golf within the set.)

There’s a serial number in the top left corner, along with a stickered autograph found at the bottom. The base version seen above has a print run of 99 copies. There’s also a range of colored parallels to chase, limited to 45 or fewer.

  • Parallels: Light Blue #/45, Orange #/7, Navy Blue #/5, Emerald #/5, Purple #/3, Silver #/2, Gold 1/1

2. 2018 Topps Now Tyson Fury #WVF-2 (eBay)

The 2018 Topps Now collection focused on Fury’s initial bout with Deontay Wilder. The comeback fight saw a classic trilogy, in which Fury emerged as the eventual victor.

Any of the 2018 Topps Now Showtime Championship Boxing cards are worth checking out, especially as we’d tentatively call them Tyson Fury RCs. They also have ridiculously low print runs, which can be seen below. There are seven cards in the set overall:

  • WVF-1 Wilder vs Fury Matchup (PR=59)
  • WVF-2 Wilder vs Fury Press Conference (PR=53)
  • WVF-3A/B Deontay Wilder Event-Used Ring Mat (#/25 and 1/1)
  • WVF-4A/B Tyson Fury Event-Used Ring Mat (#/25 and 1/1)
  • WVF-5 Deontay Wilder Scores Two Knockdowns (PR=53)
  • WVF-6 Tyson Fury Remains Boxing’s Lineal Heavyweight Champion (PR=64)
  • WVF-7 Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury: Heavyweight Title Fight Ends in a Split-Decision Draw (PR=64)

1. 2020 Topps Signature Performance Tyson Fury (eBay)

If you’d prefer a premium auto showing off the Gypsy King during his ring walk, a crowned Fury can be found on the front of this 2020 Topps Signature Performance release.

Signature Performance was a brand new series of cards issued by Topps, in which all cards include a sticker autograph. There are up to five different versions and the cards were available via Topps.com for 7 days. (You’ll find a copy of the Purple parallel shown in the image above.)

  • Parallels: Blue #/75, Purple #/50, Red #/10, Orange #/5, Gold 1/1

Tyson Fury Cards: Buyers Guide

Here are our thoughts on the current market for the best Tyson Fury cards ever.

Unless you’re looking at the likes of Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali, the majority of boxing cards tend to be affordable, even if they’re graded. You’ll be able to find numerous Tyson Fury cards at a range of different price points.

The Signature Performance autograph should be seen as one of the top cards to collect, even if we prefer the more traditional look of the 2021 Leaf Set. Either will serve you well if you’re looking at rare parallels.

Then there’s the 2018 Topps Now collection, which are sufficiently rare enough to make most collectors take an interest.

Final Thoughts

Tyson Fury could retire undefeated tomorrow, and nobody would be able to say that he shied away from the biggest fights. However, the likes of Anthony Joshua and Olexsandr Usyk still remain on the horizon, so there could be a couple of superfights featuring the Gypsy King remaining.

I’ve always been a big fan of Fury, who is likely to be remembered well when he hangs up the gloves for good. A unique character, there’s certainly never going to be another like him.

Whether it’s a rookie card from 2018, or one of the rare autos, there’s a number of interesting Tyson Fury cards to collect.
