Iron Man is the first hero to make the list. He’s featured on 11 cards from the set, numbered from 12 to 22. A popular hero who has been a big part of the MCU for the past 15 years, Iron Man cards tend to do well if they’re wrapped in a graded slab. 4. 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes Captain America (#1-11) (eBay)

Captain America cards have proven to be some of the more valuable options in recent years, spurred on by international appeal and blockbuster movies. Once again, Cap’n is found in 11 cards from the set, including the first overall. Without context, the images don’t always make much sense. It’s still fun to see classic images of Gold​​en Age superheroes.

3. 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes The Mighty Thor (#56-66) (eBay)

Thor is another popular hero that is featured in the 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes collection. 

One of the few original Avengers actors still in the role, with 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder actor Chris Hemsworth became the first MCU hero to take the lead in four solo movies.

Some of the cards allowed the owner to enter their own caption, which can be seen in the image above. These tend to be rarer for obvious reasons. (Many have been filled out back in the 1960s.)

2. 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes The Incredible Hulk (#45-55) (eBay)

Hulk is one of the more overpowered Marvel heroes, and is arguably a better investment option than the likes of Thanos, especially as a character with a longer shelf life. 

You’ll see a PSA graded copy in the image above, signed by none other than Stan Lee. Of course, the average 1966 Hulk card is likely to be far cheaper.

1. 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man (#34-44) (eBay)

Spider-Man is arguably the most popular Marvel hero. Whether it’s his modern PMG cards, or older options like the 1966 Donruss collection, they also tend to be the most valuable overall.

One of the more frequently graded heroes from the set, it means that it can be easier to find Spider-Man rookie cards up for sale at any given time. Despite the rarity and popularity, ungraded copies are pretty affordable.

What about 1966 Donruss Marvel Super Heroes cards 33-44?

Numbers 33 to 44 are reserved for Daredevil, who is the least popular of the six heroes found in the set. (DC previously held the rights for Daredevil, reverting back to Marvel in 2020.) It’s fair to say that these tend to be the cheapest cards from the collection.
