The baddest man on the planet, Francis Ngannou tore through the UFC’s heavyweight division on his way to the summit. 

Better still, the manner of his victory in the rematch against Stipe Miocic showed that Ngannou is still improving, and is more than a simple powerhouse who ‘hits like a Ford Escort.’

The MMA fighter is trying to set up a superfight with lineal heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, even if he’d be likely to be outclassed in the ring.

5. 2021 Panini Prizm UFC Francis Ngannou #SG-FNG (eBay)

2021 was a big year for Panini and the UFC, as they signed an exclusive deal to produce licensed cards and sets. They began by bringing over the popular chromium Panini Prizm series. 

“Debut Edition” Hobby boxes averaged two autographs, such as this Ngannou card from the Signatures subset. It features a stickered autograph, and a close-up of “The Predator” with his finger raised to his lips. 

2021 Panini Prizm UFC has proven to be a big hit with collectors, and the same goes for the autos from the set.

4. 2021 Select UFC Francis Ngannou #SG-FNG (eBay)

2021 Panini Select UFC was the second brand to make use of the new licensing deal. You’ll find a close-up autograph featuring Ngannou in the Signatures subset, complete with a small selection of serial numbered parallels that change with the border color.

3. 2022 Panini Prizm UFC Francis Ngannou #153 (eBay)

The recent 2022 Panini Prizm UFC release features horizontal and vertical cards in the base set, although Ngannou is only included in the latter. 

It features an image of the fighter with the heavyweight belt being strapped around his waist by none other than Dana White. There’s also a rainbow of Prizm parallels to chase.

2. 2017 Topps UFC Chrome Francis Ngannou RC #78 (eBay) 

A debut release from 2017, Topps UFC Chrome features Ngannou’s RC. 

(Of course, by 2017, Ngannou had amassed a record of 11-1, including six wins in the UFC.)

The Refractor versions are worth a fair amount, and include a Gold edition limited to 50 copies. It’s still one of the earliest collectibles to feature the future heavyweight champion.

Why does this card top the list, ahead of the 2017 Topps UFC Chrome RC seen above? 

2021 Prizm UFC was the debut set released to coincide with Panini’s multi-year trading card exclusive with the MMA organization.

The Prizm base card is the slickest you’ll find, featuring an image of Ngannou casually strolling across the octagon. Parallels are where the real money is, and they can easily sell for four figures if graded.

Francis Ngannou Cards: Buyers Guide 

Ngannou is the undisputed champion, and still tops the UFC heavyweight rankings at the current time of writing. Here’s an outlook looking at his cards from an investment POV. 

There’s a wide variety of Ngannou cards on the market, with cheaper options found in both Topps and Panini sets. UFC cards aren’t especially overpriced, so it’s worth taking a look to see what’s currently available. 

The rarest Ngannou cards can easily sell for four figures, reflecting growing interest in the UFC as a whole. The best overall is arguably the 2021 Panini Prizm card, or the 2017 Topps RC. You can’t go wrong with many options, especially if he comes back to defend his belt. 

Francis Ngannou Cards: Buying/Selling Advice

Ngannou is one of the few MMA fighters that has taken on Dana White and won, retiring with the belt for the time being. 

There’s still a possibility that he could return to the UFC, while he clearly wants the fight with Fury, which would attract more eyes to the best Ngannou cards on the market. 

Even if he never fights in the UFC again, there will be an interesting story to tell. We’d keep tabs on prices in the meantime.
