German striker Timo Werner joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig on a five-year deal in the summer of 2020.

He set the record as the youngest player to reach 150 and 200 appearances in the Bundesliga, and made his international debut in 2017.

Despite struggling to find the net at times, he played an integral role in the side that went on to win the Champions League in 2021.

As well as some of the best Timo Werner cards, we’ve included investment advice as he heads towards his prime.

The Best Timo Werner Cards

Whether it be Chelsea, RB Leipzig, or Germany, Werner has a range of affordable cards released over the past five years. Here are some great options.

5. 2018 Topps Chrome Bundesliga Timo Werner #25 (eBay)

There’s no better place to start than the 2018 Topps Chrome Bundesliga set.

You’ll find both signed and unsigned versions of the Werner card numbered #25, and each comes with a separate set of Refractor parallels.

Werner is featured in a simple action shot, wearing the white of RB Leipzig as he controls the ball with his foot.

Base refractors are plentiful, and PSA 10 grades are some of the cheapest Werner cards on the market.

Refractor Parallels: Blue #/199, Green #/99, Blue Wave #/99, Gold #/50, Orange #/25, Red #/10, Red Wave #/10, SuperFractor 1/1

Signed Parallels: Blue Wave #/75, Gold #/50, Orange #/25, Red #/10, Red Wave #/5, SuperFractor 1/1

4. 2018 Topps Chrome Bundesliga Timo Werner Future Stars #TW (eBay)

Future Stars is a popular subset that was included in 2018 Topps Chrome Bundesliga boxes.

As with the card seen above, there’s a base unsigned version, along with a signed parallel serial numbered to 50 copies.

Based on looks alone, it’s one of the better Werner cards you’ll find as it shimmers invitingly. It’s also reasonably affordable for an auto released during the early stages of his career.

3. 2021 Merlin Heritage ‘95 Werner Mount Dual Auto (eBay

Produced as a homage to the 1995 Merlin sticker set, 2021 Topps Merlin Heritage 95 UEFA Champions League is a popular collection.

Signatures were made available at a rate of one per box, including a dual auto featuring Werner and Chelsea teammate Mason Mount. Of course, they went on to win the 2021 Champions League. The latter was named in the Squad of the Season

It’s another strong choice, although it’s slightly more expensive than the norm due to the inclusion of Mount.

Parallels: B/W Background #/99, Blue #/50, Purple #/25, Red #/10, Orange #/5, Gold 1/1

2. 2020/21 Panini Prizm EPL Timo Werner Kaboom #6 (eBay)

Color Blast and Kaboom were the two inserts included with 2020-21 Panini Prizm Premier League Soccer.

Werner’s Kaboom card is one of 20 from the set, which is exceedingly popular despite the lack of an auto or serial number.

It features a stylised image of the forward in his Chelsea kit, reminiscent of a comic book with large lettering in the background. Depending on the rest of his career with the Blues, it could be a great investment option.

1. 2018 Panini Prizm World Cup Timo Werner RC #98 (eBay)

The 2018 Panini World Cup set contains Werner’s World Cup RC.

Germany had a poor tournament as they finished bottom of Group F, losing to South Korea and Mexico along the way.

As well as the many parallels listed below, there’s a Cyrillic Text version released to commemorate the tournament taking place in Russia. The rarest graded parallels tend to be some of his most expensive options overall during the later stages of 2021.

Parallels: Silver, Hyper, Lazer, Mojo, Red Mosaic, Black/Gold Wave, Green/Orange Wave, Red/Blue Wave, Blue #/199, Red #/149, Light Blue Lazer #/125, Purple #/99, Orange #/65, Pink Lazer #/40, Green Crystals #/25, Camo #/20, Gold Lazer #/15, Gold #/10, Pink #/8 (NSCC), Gold Power #/5, Blue Shimmer #/5 (FOTL), Black 1/1

Timo Werner Cards: Buyers Guide

Here are our thoughts about the current state of the Timo Werner card market.

The majority of Werner cards are reasonably affordable, especially given his potential to win trophies with a talented Chelsea team. We’d look at the 2018 World Cup RC, or a graded card from the Topps Chrome Bundesliga set released in the same year.

We like the look of the dual auto shared with Mason Mount, or one of the rarer 2018 World Cup parallels. They’re far cheaper than when he first joined the Blues in a deal worth £47.5 million

Timo Werner Cards: Buying/Selling Advice

Werner has clearly blown hot and cold since joining the Premier League. The majority of Chelsea fans respect his work rate and his energetic displays for the side. They also unexpectedly won the biggest prize in European football along the way last season.

Currently, the majority of Werner cards are fairly cheap, even if they’ve received a high grade.

If you think that there’s a chance he could rediscover his goalscoring form, there’s no reason why his cards can’t serve as a modest investment option. However, forwards are judged on goals and assists, as well as trophies.

It’s more likely than not that he’ll have added serious silverware to his collection by the time his contract with Chelsea is up in 2025. As for the rest, he’s started this season well, but we’ll have to wait and see in the long-term.
