Two-time African Footballer of the Year Mo Salah is in the form of his life. He leads the Premier League golden boot race at the business end of the 2021-22 season.

His Liverpool side are chasing trophies on four fronts, and have already secured the FA Cup with a win against Chelsea. The Reds have also been boosted by reports that Salah is likely to sign a new contract that would extend his spell with the club until 2026.

Here’s a roundup with five of the best Mohammed Salah cards on the market right now, along with advice if you’re interested in their long-term potential.

The Best Mohamed Salah Cards

We’ve listed five of the best Mo Salah options below. This includes a trio of 2013 RCs, and a duo of World Cup cards released during the 2018 tournament.

5. 2018 Panini World Cup Stickers Mohamed Salah #90 (eBay)

2018 Panini World Cup Stickers Mohamed Salah #90

One of the most affordable collectibles to feature Salah is his 2018 World Cup sticker.

There are two 2018 World Cup Sticker sets, and they use the same image on the front.

The black and white back is found with the base set, while the reverse on the alternative stickers are pink. The numbers are also different for the pink-backed versions when compared to the 682 stickers seen with the base release.

(This is because the pink backed set only has 670 stickers in total.)

There’s also a Gold Edition, easy to spot thanks to a coloured borderline on the front of the sticker. There’s no real difference in terms of value for the different backs. The Gold versions do sell for a premium.

4. 2018 Panini Prizm World Cup Mohamed Salah #54 (eBay)

2018 Panini Prizm World Cup Soccer is a premium alternative to the sticker set seen above.

Salah’s tournament RC is printed on thick stock. There’s a range of numbered prizm parallels which are reasonably valuable if they’ve been graded by the likes of PSA. It’s worth remembering that collectors are always fond of World Cup cards, and this is no exception.

Despite Egypt finishing bottom of their group behind Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Uruguay without a point in 2018, Salah scored two goals, one apiece against Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.

3. 2013 Panini UEFA Champions League Stickers Mohamed Salah RC #302 (eBay)

The 2013-14 Panini UEFA Champions League sticker set offers a duo of vintage Salah rookie options. They’re from his time with Basel while playing in Europe’s premier competition.

He won back to back titles with the Swiss side, going on to earn an ill-fated move to Chelsea in 2014.

The first we’ll look at is numbered #302, and features the player in an action shot while wearing the blue and red of Basel. There’s a UCL logo in the top left corner, while the border is given a metallic finish.

Given that the sticker set was released in 2013, there aren’t many that have made it to the present day unscathed.

2. 2013 Panini UEFA Champions League Stickers Mohamed Salah RC #372 (eBay)

Keeping with the 2013 Panini UEFA Champions League set, the second Salah sticker to make the list is a more traditional option. It uses a simple profile image of the player.

Once again, it’s reasonably rare due to a combination of the age, the fact it’s a flimsy sticker, and because Salah was playing for an unfancied Swiss side at the time.

Panini has managed to condense a lot of information onto a small sticker. This includes a bunch of stats and a tiny headshot.

1. 2013 Simulacija Top 32 Mohamed Salah RC #94 (eBay)

Okay, so this is where it begins to get a bit expensive

The 2013 Top 32 sticker set features the likes of Pele and Diego Maradona, along with a rookie image of the future Egypt captain.

Originally released in Serbia, the base collection includes 396 stickers. They also feature an image of Lionel Messi on the reverse.

The 2013 Simulacija set has a simple action shot of Salah after he’s let fly with a customary left boot. It’s especially tough to find in pristine condition, which is understandable given the age, as well as being released in a country in which grading isn’t especially popular.

Mohamed Salah Cards: Values

Despite his star status, you won’t have to break the bank to add a Salah card or rookie sticker to your personal collection. (As long as you avoid the best graded copies of the 2013 Top 32 release.)

Meanwhile, there’s a sole PSA 10 graded copy of the Top 32 card at the current time of writing, which probably has the most potential to break the record for Salah card sales in the future.

Mohamed Salah Cards: Cheaper Options

Either of the 2013 Panini UEFA Champions League stickers are quite affordable. They will still set you back by a fair amount if you’re looking at graded versions.

His World Cup RC is found in 2018 Panini sets, with a base copy that can be grabbed for less than $100. The cheapest by far is going to be the 2018 rookie sticker, and there’s likely to be more interest as we near the 2022 winter edition of the tournament.

Summary

It’s a shame that there’s a lack of autographed options. There are few popular early sets that bear the name of the famous Liverpool forward. (Considering the lack of Salah autos on the market, you’d probably be better served by looking at signed shirts. At least they come with a certificate of authenticity.)

However, it does make it easier to collect the best Salah cards on the market without having to break the bank.

We also expect him to continue breaking EPL records for the next few years. Salah will be especially dangerous until his lightning pace begins to fail him as age takes its toll.

As current players go, you could do far worse than a national icon if you’re looking for the best investment options.
