Match Attax 23/24 1st Edition packets are on sale now. Here’s what to expect from multipacks:
- Price: (Topps UK) £5.99 per multipack
- One pack of 1st Edition cards per multipack
- 1st Edition cards are inserted randomly
- Includes a variety of inserts to preview including Next Gen
- One Gold Limited Edition card per multipack
Topps says:
“31 early preview cards of Match Attax 23/24 are inside the 1st Edition Multipack including 6 parallel cards and a random Limited Edition card. Plus look out for exclusive Gold Dust cards inside lucky multipacks (9 to collect, insert ratio 1:4).”

What are the best cards that can be found in 2023/24 Match Attax 1st Edition packs?
2023/24 Match Attax 1st Edition cards
1st Edition cards are only available for a short period of time. As you can see with the Dusan Vlahovic 1st Edition version seen above, each card is stamped clearly to set it apart from later releases.
Some of the bigger names on the checklist include Erling Haaland, as well as Kylian Mbappe and Marcus Rashford. The set itself only includes 64 base cards, so it should be possible to complete the 1st Edition collection without breaking the bank.

2023/24 Match Attax Gold Dust Exclusive Edition
Gold Dust cards are only found in one in four 1st Edition preview packs, with a total of nine to collect. As such, they’re some of the rarest releases that you’re going to find. Rather than a golden design, the cards shimmer in the light. It’s also worth noting that the Gold Dust cards don’t actually have a 1st Edition stamp, not that it has stopped them from being the most valuable options from the collection.
France striker Kylian Mbappe is undoubtedly the biggest name on the Gold Dust checklist.

2023/24 Match Attax 1st Edition Preview Checklist
Each of the 2023/24 Match Attax multipacks comes with a physical checklist, so I’ve added a relevant image above. As well as base cards, the checklist includes Mirror foil and Holo versions. It’s not the biggest checklist, so it should be possible to complete a full 1st Edition set if you’d like a bigger challenge.
There are no numbered parallels, and you’ll have to wait until the full release if you’re looking for autographs or patches.
What we packed
We grabbed a couple of multipacks, and actually found one of the Gold Dust cards inside, featuring Germany star Joshua Kimmich. However, Haaland cards were elusive, and there’s only one 1st Edition pack to open, even if there are 31 cards per multipack. Even so, Match Attax is always a fun rip, and it’s a good way to get an idea of the cards that are going to be released in time for the 2022/23 season.
Summary
This 1st Edition preview is a great way to check out the cards that are going to be released in time for the 2022/23 season. The cards are likely to be slightly more valuable than the norm, but that isn’t saying much considering it’s one of the cheapest soccer sets on the market.
